George E. Vadeboncoeur, Jr., 80

George E. Vadeboncoeur, Jr., 80, the husband of the late Helen E. (Goddard) Vadeboncoeur, died Jan. 7 at his home in Haverhill.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late George E. Vadeboncoeur, Sr. and Dorothy (Muldowney) Vadeboncoeur. Raised and educated in Haverhill, he was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School, Class of 1956. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country with honor during the Korean War. He was employed at Raytheon for many years. He enjoyed camping at Eastern Slopes in North Conway, N.H. with his family. He was an avid hunter in the Ossipee area and loved fishing at Lake Winnipesaukee, both in New Hampshire. With his wife, Vadeboncoeur loved to travel to Las Vegas and enjoyed many shows. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Vadeboncoeur is survived by his children, George Vadeboncoeur of Haverhill; Edward and Jeannie Vadeboncoeur of Haverhill; David S. Smith and his wife Lisa of Texas; Scott Smith and his wife Sylvia of Sacramento, Calif.; Kelly Agnello of Lowell; his sisters, Judith Curtis of Plaistow, N.H.; Janice Gitchier of Maine; four grandchildren, Stefani Vadeboncoeur, Shea Vadeboncoeur, Kyle Smith and Kelsey Mottram; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife, he was predeceased by his brother James Vadeboncoeur.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Saturday, Jan. 12 from 10 a.m.-noon. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at noon.
