Mary A. (Coltraro) Murphy, 83, Haverhill Schools Cafeteria Worker

Mary A. (Coltraro) Murphy, 83, a longtime Haverhill resident, died Dec. 23 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen.

Born, raised and educated in Methuen, she was the daughter of the late Antonio and Lena (Pappalardo) Coltraro, and was employed at Western Electric Co of North Andover for several years, later working at Colonial Pine Craft, and Tech Coating. Following her retirement, Murphy worked in primary and middle school cafeterias for the City of Haverhill school department.

A longtime member of Saint James Parish, she was devoted to her husband and children, and enjoyed cooking and baking and creating a warm and loving home for her family. She also enjoyed singing, and traveling with her late husband Michael to Las Vegas and Foxwoods.

Predeceased in 2003 by her husband of 46 years, Michael S. Murphy Jr., she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a daughter and son-in-law, Donna A. and Raymond Mailloux of Chester, N.H., two sons and daughters-in-law, Michael S. III and Marcia Murphy of Londonderry, N.H., and Robert A. and Marcy Murphy of Haverhill, three sisters, Lucy Scanlon of Lawrence, Josephine Murphy of Haverhill and Louise Desell of Haverhill, five grandchildren, Matthew Mailloux, Michael Mailloux, Michael S. Murphy, IV, Elizabeth Murphy and Cheryl Cooper, and several niece and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to Murphy’s calling hours and life celebration to be held on Wednesday, Jan. 2 from 5-8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, (Route 97), Haverhill. Her funeral will begin on Thursday, Jan. 3, at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint James Church, Winter St., Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint James Cemetery, Haverhill. Donations in her name may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
