Jeannette M. (Cote) Coulle, 98, Former Legal Secretary

Jeannette M. (Cote) Coulle, 98, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died Dec. 20 at Holy Family Medical Center at Merrimack Valley Hospital.

Raised and educated in Haverhill, she was the daughter of the late Ovila and Louise (LaPlante) Cote and attended Saint Joseph Grammar School, graduating from Haverhill High School with the class of 1937. She later attended MacIntosh Business School and was employed as a legal secretary at the Law Firm of Mintz, Levin and Cohn, Boston.

A member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and the former Saint Joseph Parish, she was also a longtime member of the Ladies of Saint Anne Society. Coulle enjoyed being a housewife and homemaker and keeping a warm and inviting home for her husband and daughter, sewing and cooking. Up until the time of her death, she maintained an interest in politics and enjoyed a vigorous discussion on the state of the city, the Commonwealth and the country, as well as her approval or disapproval of political figures.

Predeceased by her husband Charles M. Coulle in 1996, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary L. and Marc Brovender of Boxford, grandsons Alexander and Nicolas Brovender , both of Boxford, a brother and sister-in-law Ovila and Rita Cote of Haverhill, nieces Norma Pike, Mary Cameron and Dianne Wagner, and nephews John Pare, Denis Pare, David Pare, Scott Pare and Daniel Chabot, and several cousins. She was predeceased by a sister, Irene Chabot, and brothers, William Cote, Roland Cote and Robert Cote.

Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, Dec. 26 from 4-7 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill, Her funeral will begin on Thursday, Dec. 27 at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
