A school nurse at Andover’s Greater Lawrence Technical School was forced to administer two doses of Narcan to a female student, police tell WHAV.
The Narcan was given to a 16-year-old female student Friday afternoon, police spokesman Lt. Edward Guy said.
It was not clear if the student suffered an opioid overdose, Guy said. The teen was taken by ambulance to Lawrence General Hospital for treatment and an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
According to Guy, the teen is not facing criminal charges at this time.
The incident comes on the heels of a Haverhill 11-year-old girl’s unexplained sudden death, which as WHAV previously reported, may have been precipitated by ingestion of a toxic substance. State and local police are investigating if Consentino student Precious Wallaces was exposed to the deadly drug fentanyl before falling into a coma.
