Robert ‘Bob’ W. Rolfe, 82, Worked 40 Years in Grocery Industry

Robert “Bob” W. Rolfe, 82, of Haverhill, formerly of Danvers, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 16, at his home.

He was born in Swampscott, Dec. 23, 1935, son of the late William Rolfe and Viola (Quimby) Rolfe. Brother of the late William Rolfe and late Carolyn Rolfe Caswell, he was raised in Marblehead and graduated high school from Cushing Academy. He worked for more than 40 years in the grocery industry spending most of his career with Shubie’s Market in Marblehead and Ralph’s Market in Beverly.

Rolfe was the husband of the late Carol Ann (Amato) Rolfe for 52 years. They resided in Danvers for many years and moved to Haverhill in 2005.

After Rolfe retired, he took care of his grandsons so they wouldn’t have to go to daycare, and he loved every minute. He loved gardening but his true passions were creating models out of matchsticks and collecting and listening to old time radio shows. Bob was also an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

He is survived by his children, Andrea Rolfe of Salem, Robert Rolfe Jr. and wife Ginny, of New Hampshire; and Diana Gallagher and husband Tom Jr. of Haverhill; grandsons, Patrick and Brendan Gallagher; brother-in-law Parker Caswell of Marblehead; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and Ronald Correale, of Malden; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is Friday, Dec. 21, at Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 S. Main St. (Route 125), Haverhill,  from 10 a.m.-noon. Funeral services begin at noon.
