Maria (Janson) Boragine, 30, Owned Groveland’s Jeff and Maria’s Ice Cream Shop

Maria (Janson) Boragine, 30, of Georgetown, died suddenly on Dec. 12 of a cerebral hemorrhage. Her loving family was by her side in her final hours. Born on June 20, 1988 in Quito, Ecuador, Boragine was the adopted daughter of Mary Buechler- Janson and Paul Janson. She lived in Georgetown and graduated from the schools there.

She married the love of her life, Jeff Boragine, on Oct. 10, 2015. The couple operated an ice cream shop, Jeff & Maria’s, in Groveland and have been very active in their community, contributing to Georgetown and Groveland and their schools in ways too numerous to list here. Boragine enjoyed spending time with her sister Emma and with her pets, especially her new puppy, Sundae. Friends and family were very important to her and she regularly enjoyed family dinners and parties with her extended family in the Georgetown, Salisbury and Merrimack Valley area.

She is survived by her husband Jeff, her sister Emma Janson, and her parents, Mary and Paul Janson, all of Georgetown, father-in-law Ralph Boragine and his wife Linda, mother-in-law Debbie (Aleci) Hennessey and her husband Dave, brother-in-law Ralph Boragine and his wife Chela, and nephew Cameron Boragine, all of Salisbury, sister-in-law Deanna and her husband Jay Bonanno of Methuen, brother-in-law Frankie Milone of Derry, N.H., sister-in-law, Kassandra Caruso and her husband Kenny, nephews, Kenny and Zachary Caruso of Delray, Fla., grandfather Ralph Boragine Sr. and his wife Nina of Teano, Italy, grandmother Rosemary Boragine of North Andover, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends. The world’s light will be a little less for her passing.

Family and friends are invited to attend her funeral mass on Thursday, Dec. 20 at 11 a.m., which will be celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Andover Street, Georgetown. Please go directly to the church. Burial will follow in Harmony Cemetery, Georgetown. Family and friends will be received by her family on Wednesday, Dec. 19 from 4-9 p.m. in the Conte – Giamberardino Funeral Home, 14 Pleasant St., Georgetown.
