Haverhill Public Meetings for Week of Dec. 17

The public has opportunities to shape policy this week as various Haverhill boards meet. In the interest of transparency in government, WHAV provides this list of upcoming meetings every week.

Monday, Dec. 17:

Principal Glenn Burns and the Haverhill High School Site Committee gather at 3 p.m. in the conference room at 137 Monument St., to discuss upcoming HHS events and provide an update on the school’s turnaround plan.

Tuesday, Dec. 18:

The newly rebranded MassHire Merrimack Valley Workforce Board supplies a budget update and reports on the career center during an 8 a.m. session in Lawrence on the fourth floor of 255 Essex St.

Commissioners from the Northeast Massachusetts Mosquito Control and Wetlands Management Board convene Tuesday at 9 a.m. in Georgetown, 118 Tenney St.

Haverhill’s tax billing progresses Tuesday during a 9 a.m. Board of Assessors meeting in room 115 of City Hall, 4 Summer St.

Haverhill’s City Council considers adding another sergeant to the police department ranks and names a new city veterans’ services officer during the weekly 7 p.m. meeting in the Theodore A. Pelosi Jr. Council Chambers, room 202. 97.9 WHAV FM plans to broadcast the meeting live as a public service.

Wednesday, Dec. 19:

The Hillview Montessori Charter School at 75 Foundation Ave., in Ward Hill holds a meeting of trustees at 8:30 a.m.

A Wildflower Solar installation is up for discussion during a 7 p.m. Board of Appeals public hearing in room 202 of City Hall.

Thursday, Dec. 20:

The Haverhill Public Library’s Board of Trustees considers a partnership with the Haverhill Promise early literacy initiative when the committee meets in the Whittier Room of the 99 Main St. Library starting at 8:30 a.m.
