A Haverhill man has been arrested in connection with an alleged armed robbery at the River Street Red Hen convenience store Nov. 28.

Joseph Fowler was arrested by Lowell Police on Monday on a Haverhill warrant, WHAV has confirmed. Arraigned Wednesday in Haverhill District Court, Fowler was ordered held without bail by Judge Patricia Dowling pending a dangerousness hearing later this month.

As WHAV previously reported, Haverhill and State Police fanned out across the city’s Mount Washington neighborhood last week to search for Fowler with the help of a police K-9. Wearing a mask, Fowler evaded police after brandishing a knife in a brazen daytime cash grab at 56 River St.

Fowler is the second man arrested for causing a disturbance at the shop. In October 2017, 24-year-old Davian Coote was taken into custody for allegedly stabbing an employee during an attempted armed robbery.
