Edelgard D. (Kuehn) Epp, 82, Taught German, French, Cooking

Edelgard D. (Kuehn) Epp, 82, wife of Wayne D. Epp, passed away Nov. 30, 2018, at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen with her family by her side.

Born in Berlin, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Bruno R.J. Kuehn and Clara (Glueck) Kuehn. Raised and educated in Germany, she received her bachelor’s degree there before moving to the United States. She met her husband Wayne during the Marshall Plan and the rebuilding of Germany. A former resident of Delaware, she moved with her husband to Haverhill to be closer to family. Edelgard was a teacher while in Delaware, teaching German, French and cooking. She was the director of the adult education program. Edelgard had many talents, including writing her own food column, worked as a travel agent and loved traveling the world.

In addition to her husband Wayne, she is survived by her daughter, Veronica Epp-Wronka and her husband John of Haverhill, her son, Thomas Wayne Epp and his wife Dr. Karen Leppel of Wallingford, Pa., and her grandson, Russell Bruno Epp-Leppel. She was predeceased by her sister Irene Kuehn Mischok.

Family and friends are respectfully invited to attend a funeral service on Friday, Dec. 7 at 11 a.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Hilldale Ave., Haverhill.
