Roberta M. (Sheehan) Hunter, 68, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, in Haverhill surrounded by her loving family and friends.
Born in Cambridge, on Sept. 11, 1950, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Shirley (Nichols) Sheehan of Andover, and the late Anna Converse of Haverhill.
She enjoyed sewing, casinos, camping at Tuxbury Pond and Encore Campground Fla., and spending time with her kids, grandkids, and friends. Hunter was a social worker for more than 20 years, retiring from LARE Institute in 2012.
Hunter, a widow, was married to loving husband Warren Hunter (2013) for 32 years. She was loved and is survived by her children, Laurie (Hunter) Mahoney and her husband Sean Mahoney of Manchester, N.H., son, Phillip Hunter of Methuen, Paul Sheehan and his wife Maura (Welby) of North Andover, and Amanda (Hunter) Bentley and her husband Keith of Haverhill. Hunter, who was called “Amma,” will be sadly missed by her eight beautiful grandchildren, Madison, Ryleigh, Trevor, Addyson, Murphy, Jacob, Donovan and Brooke. Also among survivors are Hunter’s brother, Michael Sheehan and his wife Mary Ellen of Pennsylvania, sisters, Theresa (Converse) Falco, her husband Phil of Methuen and Tina (Converse) Gardella and her husband Sean of Haverhill.
She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Hunter was predeceased by her brother, Paul Sheehan. There were many friends that Roberta considered family as well.
