Patricia A. Woodbury, 85, Former Merrimack Valley-Area Nurse

Patricia A. Woodbury, 85 of Fremont, N.H and formerly of Newton, N.H., died on Monday, Nov. 19 at Colonial Poplin Nursing Home.

Born in Haverhill on June 7, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Joseph G. and Helen M. (Morin) St. Onge.

Educated at St. Joseph’s School in Haverhill, she earned her registered nursing degree from Northern Essex Community College. For many years, Woodbury was employed by the Amesbury Hospital and the Rockingham County Visiting Nurses Association, where she participated in diverse types of home health care. Among her favorites was hosting new baby clinics.

In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, cooking and solving difficult crossword puzzles. She was skilled in the art of quilting which initiated many longterm friendships with fellow quilting companions. Family and friends cherish the many finished pieces she gifted over the years. Later in life she cherished trips to New York City, Texas and Washington D.C. to visit her adult grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her loving husband of 52 years, Keith A. Woodbury, who passed away in 2013, and her brother J. Richard St. Onge.

Woodbury is survived by her children, Patrick Marcoux and his wife Lucinda of Laconia, N.H., Timothy Marcoux and his wife Grace of Haverhill and Sue Smulski and her husband Eric of Raymond, N.H., two brothers, David St. Onge and his wife Andrea of Florida and Joseph G. St. Onge Jr. of Raymond, N.H., five grandchildren, Matthew J. Marcoux and his wife Clarissa of Berthoud, Colo., Amanda Ortiz and her husband Joe of East Kingston, N.H., Anne V. Marcoux of Danvers, Scott A. Marcoux of Haverhill, and Justin K. Smulski and his wife Nicole of Portland, Maine, six great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.

At her request, services were private with burial in Bradford’s Elmwood Cemetery.
