Former Hillie QB McGovern Has Strong Showing in Second Start for Bryant Bulldogs

Three-time Merrimack Valley Conference All-Star Broghean McGovern is making big moves at Bryant University. The former Haverhill High School quarterback suited up for his second career start with the Bryant Bulldogs Nov. 10 against Wagner.

During the game, McGovern was 17 for 32 for 198 yards and two interceptions in a 56-32 defeat. McGovern did catch a six-yard touchdown pass against Wagner, becoming the first quarterback in Bryant history to be on the receiving end of a touchdown pass.

“He’s fast, he’s smart and has a strong arm,” WHAV Sports Director Paul Ryan said of the former brown and good football standout., now a sophomore. ”He has all the tools to be highly successful at Bryant.”

McGovern may have the opportunity to suit up alongside another Hillie next year, as graduating senior D.J. Cunningham has announced his verbal commitment to play for the Bulldogs in the fall.
