Four Maine residents were each welcomed to Haverhill Wednesday with a shiny new set of handcuffs after police arrested them during a drug bust at the River Street Sunoco gas station.

Jamie Ballard, William Haskell and Theresa Whipple, all of Parsonsfield, Maine, and Kelly Brennan of Hiram, Maine, were taken into custody for alleged fentanyl trafficking by Detective Brian Bailey Wednesday afternoon at 790 River St., according to a city police log.

In addition to the fentanyl charges, all must answer to one charge each of conspiracy to violate drug laws. Forty-one-year-old Brennan was also taken into custody on an undisclosed warrant-related charge, police said.
