Maryjane E. (Paul) Thomas, 89, Worked at Haverhill Council on Aging

Maryjane E. (Paul) Thomas, 89, most recently of Methuen, and former resident of Merrimac for many years, died peacefully at Nevins Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Methuen with family by her side.

Born in Newburyport on April 20, 1929, she was the only child of Willard F. and Edith L. (Dole) Paul. She had worked in the office of the Engel Lewis Counter Company in Merrimac, and had also worked at the Haverhill Council on Aging until the age of 80, driving herself to work every day.

She is survived by her two daughters, Marsha Zona and her late husband David of Shrewsbury and Marilyn Stewart and partner David Koles of Merrimac, three grandchildren, David Stewart III and wife Michelle, Brenda Stewart, and Larissa Boiselle and husband Bruce, as well as four great-grandchildren, Andrew Boiselle, Amelia Stewart, Joseph Stewart and David Stewart IV.

Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Ave., Amesbury, take place Monday, Nov. 19 from 10-11:30 a.m. immediately followed by services at the funeral home and burial at Long Hill Cemetery, where Thomas will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, Robert, and her parents, Willard and Edith Paul.
