Update: Information originally used to compile this report came from Andover Public Schools and was later corrected in a statement by Andover Police.

No injuries were reported when an Andover school bus was sideswiped by a minivan and nearly struck a telephone pole Thursday afternoon.

The bus, carrying 20 students from Andover High School, was forced sideways at approximately 2:20 p.m., near the intersection of Red Spring Road and Moraine Street, blocking both lanes. The rear of the bus was pressed against a guardrail while its front rested on a dirt embankment just short of a utility pole, according to Andover Police.

Neither students nor the driver were injured, but emergency medical personnel responded as a precaution. Andover Public Schools notified parents to pick up their children. The crash is under investigation.
