Gloria R. Perino, 90, Worked as Lens Grinder

Gloria R. (Davies) Perino, 90, a resident of Haverhill for most of her life, died on Oct. 25, 2018 at Penacook Place in Haverhill, following a long illness.
Born, raised and educated in Lawrence, daughter of the late James and Albertine (Beaudoin) Davies, she attended Lawrence Public Schools and was a member of the Lawrence High School Class of 1945. She was employed at the former Knipe Shoe Company and as a lens grinder at TNL Optical.
An active member of the former Saint Rita’s Parish of Haverhill, where she served as a sacristan and member of the Saint Rita’s Sodality, as well as a bingo caller at weekly games. She was a member of All Saints Parish of Haverhill and an Red Sox fan. She also enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and watching game shows, especially Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune.
Predeceased by her husband Norman E. Perino in 2017, she is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ralph J. Perino of Bradford, and Herbert E. and Susan Perino of Plantation, Fla., two daughters and sons-in-law, Norma R. and John Emery of Danville, N.H., and Katherine E. and Richard Seifert of Fairfax, Va, a brother James Davies of Hampton Beach, N.H., four grandchildren, Adam Perino, Thomas Perino, Steven Perino and Melissa O’Connell, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Mrs. Perino’s Life Celebration to be held on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018 from 5 to 8 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her funeral will begin on Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be held at 10 a.m. in All Saints Church, 120 Bellevue Ave., Haverhill. Burial will follow in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery.
