Mayor James J. Fiorentini has announced his endorsement of a candidate for Massachusetts 3rd Congressional District.
Prior to a debate on Tuesday between the three candidates fighting for Representative Niki Tsongas’s seat, Fiorentini announced he would be sponsoring Democratic Candidate Lori Trahan in her bid for congress. According to Fiorentini, his endorsement comes with the hope of having as many Democrats in the House of Representatives as possible. He also feels that she is well versed in gateway cities and appreciates her efforts to protect healthcare.
Trahan said she was very proud to have received his endorsement and looks forward to partnering with him to promote their vision for Haverhill in the future.
Trahan will be competing against Republican Candidate Rick Green and Independent Candidate Mike Mullen. Several of Trahan’s campaign platforms include defending the Affordable Care Act, overturning Citizens United, restoring basic equity to tax codes and lessening the financial burden of higher education.
