Haverhill Police Officer Ronald Hilchey earned the praise of his squad after Chief Alan R. DeNaro issued him the department’s Employee Excellence Award for July-September.
A 24-year veteran of the force, Hilchey was recognized for his actions during a July 2018 stabbing incident as well as in the wake of a serious car accident in September 2018, the department said.
Hilchey is currently a patrolman on the day shift.
