One Hundred Golfers Raise $10,000 Friday for 54th Annual VFW Santa Parade

One hundred golfers turned out Friday to support this year’s 54th Annual VFW Santa Parade.

The Fourth Annual VFW Santa Parade Golf Tournament took place, beginning at noon, at Bradford Country Club, raising $10,000 to support the annual procession.

Top golfers, 11 under par, were Josh Welch, Matt Taylor, Tim Sciuto, Ryan Ricci and John Prendergast, according to organizer Tim Comeau. All will be riding with the trophy in the Sunday, Nov. 18, parade.

Other prizes were awarded for Men’s closest to pin, Paul Accardi, 4 foot 5 inches; Ladies closest to pin, Judy Tracey, 4 feet; Men’s long drive, Mike Sargent; Ladies long drive, Ali Scarry; and Putting contest, Dave Marquis.

Next year’s golf tournament takes place Friday, Oct. 4.

The 54th Annual VFW Santa Parade, which is being rerouted this year through downtown Haverhill, is expected to cost about $40,000. Parade participant and float applications are available on line at haverhillsantaparade.com or by calling 978-373-3777.
