The Lawrence Lancers invaded Haverhill’s Trinity Stadium for a Saturday afternoon gridiron meet-up, but it was the Hillies who emerged victorious with an easy 30-8 win thanks to standout players David Carreiro and Sergio Martinez.

During the DiPietro Heating and Cooling Post-Game Show, WHAV sports broadcasters Paul Ryan and Tommy Morgan praised senior Carreiro for contributing two of the Hillies’ four touchdowns. Martinez aided the brown and gold with a 30-yard field goal.

Morgan, a former Hillie quarterback, was thrilled with the club’s progress. “It’s nice to see they were able to move the ball through the air this week, which is a positive going into Andover,” said Morgan, referring to next week’s challenger.

Following this weekend’s game, the Hillies are now 3-2.

Also during the post-game show, Ryan and Morgan designated the Early Family Contractor Player of the Game award to comeback kid Sam Prescott.

“He had a big bounce-back week this week with two interceptions and had that really great catch after being tackled,” said Morgan. “As I was watching them huddle in the post-game coaches’ talk, I saw him get the game ball, so it looks like Coach O’Connor and I are on the same page.”
