Lisa Marie Doherty, 56, Volunteered at Hill View Montessori

Lisa Marie Doherty, 56, a longtime resident of Haverhill, passed away peacefully in the arms of a loved one on Sept. 21.

Born in Amesbury, she was the daughter of the late Carol Bernice Crovetti and Alvin John Doherty. She went to school in Amesbury and was a longtime resident in her younger years. Doherty leaves behind many loved ones of whom she loved, cherished and brought so much joy to daily.

Doherty has touched many lives at many local organizations that she was affiliated with, including The Arc, The Horizon’s Club, Career Resources Corp, Class, Opportunity Works, and The Nevins. She was a very proud past employee of The Salvation Army in her younger years. Doherty was a proud volunteer at The Hill View Montessori Charter School making copies and listening to the children read stories.

She was a kind loving soul to the people she loved. Doherty was very proud of her ribbons and medals from the Special Olympics, enjoyed bowling, going to the movies, going for rides and most notably, Dunkin’ Donuts large iced coffees. She loved the Patriots, the Red Sox, her crossword puzzles and notebooks. She was fiercely independent and had a contagious smile and laugh. She was most proud to be called “auntie” which started off with her two nephews early on. She became a devoted  “Auntie Lisa” to all. Allie was her dog, with whom she shared a very special bond. They both brightened each others days. If you were a special man in her life, you sure knew that you were and that she touched your heart like no other woman ever could. She always enjoyed playing catch and dress up with the little ones that she adored. Dancing and listening to music was a must! Doherty touched the lives of all whom she lived with in ways that can never be understood. She is sadly missed and will always be remembered and forever cherished in our hearts.

There will be no calling hours.  Relatives, friends and colleagues are invited to The Rock Church, 60 Newton Road, Plaistow N.H. ,03865 to celebrate her life on Friday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. Lunch will follow.

Arrangements are under the direction of Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill.
