With just over a month to go until November’s election, Congressman Seth Moulton is lending his support to Boxford’s Christina Eckert in the first-time candidate’s bid for a 2nd district state representative seat.

Calling the Harvard grad and mom of three a “proven leader,” Moulton praised Eckert for her community roots and commitment local outreach. All are assets that help Eckert stand out against Republican challenger Rep. Lenny Mirra.

“Christina is a proven leader in her community having worked to expand educational opportunities in her district’s schools, providing healthy summer activities for children, and supplying thousands of families in Essex County with household goods through her charitable work,” Moulton said. “Christina is the fresh voice that will help improve public schools, fight for a cleaner environment and lead the charge against discrimination. She will get things done.”

Democrat Moulton has served as the 6th district’s representative since 2015. Should she defeat Mirra in November, Eckert would serve residents in Haverhill, Georgetown, Boxford and Groveland, among others.
