Robert A. Chapdelaine, 98, Former Raytheon Machinist

Robert A. Chapdelaine, 98, husband of the late Pauline H. (Lefebvre) Chapdelaine, passed away September 28 at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Boston surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Haverhill, he was the son of the late Joseph E. and Rose E. (Comeau) Chapdelaine. He was raised and educated in Manchester, N.H., and attended Manchester Public Schools. Chapdelaine served his country in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. He was a machinist and worked at Raytheon for over 25 years. He enjoyed traveling, riding to the beach, people watching in the lobby and was a music enthusiast. He could be found at all genres of concerts and had the pleasure of meeting B.B. King at the Hard Rock in Los Angeles. A big supporter of local sports, Chapdelaine attended many games and enjoyed watching them on television. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Chapdelaine is survived by his daughters, Susan Chapdelaine of Desert Hot Springs, Calif., and Elaine M. Heisler of Haverhill, grandchildren Seth Heisler and Dustin Heisler, great-grandchildren Mae, William, Ronan and Lillyan Heisler. In addition to his loving wife, he was predeceased by his sister Irene Kerr.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Wednesday, October 3 from noon-1 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery, John Ward Avenue, Haverhill.
