Donald W. Bilodeau, 89, Owned Bilodeau’s Hot Top and Masonry

Donald W. Bilodeau, 89, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Tuesday Sept. 25, at his home.

He was born in Detroit, Mich., on Dec. 7, 1928, son of the late Doria and Alma (Nyman) Bilodeau. Bilodeau was educated in the Haverhill public school system. He enlisted in the Merchant Marines and, after his discharge, he later went on to work in the Haverhill shoe industry.

After he retired from the shoe industry he started Bilodeau’s Hot Top and Masonry, from where he retired as owner and operator. He was very active in the Haverhill community, always working at the American Legion farm planting flowers and taking care of the grounds. He was very passionate of his vegetable and flower garden which he enjoyed working on every year.

Bilodeau was predeceased by his son, Ronald Daginault who passed away in 2013, his brother Eugene Bilodeau, brother in law, Herbert Zangari Jr., sisters-in-law, Constance David and Kathleen Noyes. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lorraine (Zangari) Bilodeau; children, Donald Bilodeau and his wife Aleta of Raymond, N.H., Linda Mercer and her partner Linda Tiernan of Kittery, Maine, Debra Nicholson and her partner Deborah McLaughlin of Beverly, Lisa April and her husband Charles of Somersworth, N.H., Mark Bilodeau and his wife Cheryl of Newton, N.H., Kevin Bilodeau and his fiancé Hanna Gardemeister of Kensington, N.H., Dianne M. Brown and her husband Gregory of Danville, N.H., Linda Greenwood and her fiancé Hank Comeau of Haverhill; siblings, Ronald Bilodeau and his wife Grace of Haverhill, Richard Bilodeau of Haverhill, Kenneth Bilodeau and his wife Patricia of Merrimac, Gloria Richardson of Haverhill, and Beverly Mullen of Plaistow, N.H.; brothers and sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Burns of Haverhill, Maryann Gucciardi of Burlington, Vt., Dolores Pacione of Plaistow, N.H., Ronald Zangari of Haverhill, Patricia O’Connell of Haverhill, Michael Zangari and his wife Paula of Haverhill, Carole Zangari of Haverhill, and Cynthia Zangari of Haverhill; as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend calling hours Sunday, Sept. 30, from 4-7 p.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral service takes place Monday, at 11 a.m., at the Second Baptist Church, 314 Amesbury Line Road, Haverhill. Burial follows in Maplewood North Parish Cemetery, Plaistow, N.H.
