A 19-year-old Haverhill woman was killed just after midnight, Sunday morning, after her car crashed into a wooded area between lanes of I-495.

Nineteen-year-old Katie Ramirez, of the Bradford section of the city, was found unresponsive in her car, just south of Exit 41 in Andover, according to Massachusetts State Police.

She was driving northbound on I-495 in a 2013 Honda Accord when she apparently veered left and struck trees in the median, said a report by Troopers Andrew Valeri and Kevin Delgado of the Andover barracks.

Troopers found Ramirez unresponsive and administered CPR. Andover Fire Department followed and took her to Lawrence General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The crash remains under investigation by troopers from the Andover Barracks. Troop A Headquarters, State Police Crime Scene Services Section, State Police Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section and the state Department of Transportation also provided help at the scene.
