Covanta is coming through for students at Northern Essex Community College. The Ward Hill energy from waste plant has donated $10,000 to the NECC endowment fund that bears its name, Covanta’s Business Manager Mark Van Weelden told WHAV.

The scholarship gift helps defray college costs for three students, Van Weelden said.

“Covanta is pleased to continue to invest in Northern Essex through our endowment fund. Northern Essex is a vital local resource for anyone who desires a high quality continued education,” Van Weelden said. “Their graduates have been an excellent resource for the Merrimack Valley business community to fill vacation positions.”

Covanta established their endowment fund in 2011.
