The Haverhill-based ValleyWorks Career Center is undergoing a rebranding effort as one of 29 career centers to be rebranded as a new statewide initiative called MassHire, Governor Baker’s office said.

ValleyWorks, which also has a location in Lawrence, will now become part of a centralized career resource network that offers job search and placement resources and employee training from the state.

“The adoption of a central MassHire brand will make the Commonwealth’s workforce systems more responsive and user-friendly for both employees and employers statewide,” Baker said. “By supporting uniform career centers and workforce boards, we are creating a simple change to develop more jobs and enrich opportunities for Massachusetts residents.”

Career Centers in New Bedford and Fall River were among the first to be rebrand, with locations in the Merrimack Valley set for their overhaul over the next few months, Baker’s office said.
