Teeing off for a good cause! Supporters of the Whittier Regional Vocational Technical High School’s Educational Foundation came together last month for their annual golf tournament that raised $19,000 to benefit student programs and scholarships.

Organizers said 112 golfers hit the Bradford Country Club green for 18 holes, a putting contest and more for the second annual event.

“All the money we raised directly benefits students,” Superintendent Maureen Lynch said. “The fundraiser is something that’s really important to us and we want to thank everyone who contributed to make it such a success.”

In the last year, the Whittier Foundation awarded 10 scholarships to 2018 graduates, purchased and provided clothing for shop and co-op students and gifted food and clothing to students and families as part of a holiday initiative, Lynch said.
