Haverhill’s Buttonwoods Museum is getting to ready to offer two kid-friendly programs this month on the history of the Merrimack River on Tuesday, Sept. 11 and Thursday, Sept. 13.
The first installment, called “Rolling on the River: History and Ecology of the Merrimack” is open to children ages 6 and up, and children may be dropped off at the Water Street museum for the two-hour program that begins at 10 a.m.
In the latest installment of the Buttonwoods “History for Half Pints” series, children ages 2-6 and their caregivers are invited to use maps and stories to learn about the Merrimack. During this session from 10-11:30 a.m., children will build boats and test if they’ll float.
Admission for both programs is $5 per child and registration is required by emailing [email protected].
