A 58-year-old Andover man was arrested Wednesday and charged with possession of child pornography, Police Chief Patrick Keefe confirmed.
John Curran was taken into custody just after 5 p.m. at a home on Andover’s Algonquin Avenue after police executed a search warrant, Keefe said. Curran was arrested without incident by Andover Police, who were assisted by a member of the State Police Computer Forensic Unit and a member of the Rowley Police Department who works as part of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
Curran is expected to be arraigned Thursday in Lawrence District Court and the investigation is ongoing, Keefe’s office said.
