Haverhill hoopsters in grades 4 through 8 are encouraged to attend one of two tryouts for the city’s travel basketball team on Sunday, Sept. 9 and Sunday, Sept. 16 at the Haverhill High School Gym on Monument Street.

Girls’ tryouts take place at 1 p.m. for players in grades 4, 5 and 6, while seventh and eighth grade players hit the court starting at 2 p.m.

Boys take center court starting at 3 p.m., with players in grades 4 through 8 trying out in hour-long intervals until 8 p.m.

All players trying out are asked to bring a water bottle and their own basketball.

This year’s registration fee is $315 per player, which includes two practices per week, games and team tournament entries. Financial aid is available for those who qualify.
