Ruthann Finnigan, 77, Former Kmart Clerk

Ruthann Finnigan, 77, of Gloucester, and formerly of Haverhill and Amesbury, died on August 23 at the Lahey Clinic in Burlington.

Born in Haverhill, the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth E. (O’Leary) Finnigan, she attended school in Haverhill and worked as a clerk at Kmart. She was a member of Haverhill’s All Saints Parish and the former St. George’s Parish.

A feisty character with a rebel spirit, Finnigan enjoyed watching older movies and TV series, doing word search puzzles, adult coloring books and collecting dolls. She also enjoyed playing bingo, rug hooking and occasional trips to Foxwoods. She loved her ice coffee, and being a devoted aunt, she enjoyed playing card games with her nieces and nephews who she adored.

She is survived by a niece Dannie Castricone and her husband, David of Plaistow, N.H., and their children, Justin and his wife, Cassy and Megan, a nephew, Robert Augusta and his wife, Valencia of Andover, and their children, Robert Jr., Jacob, Kevin, Alysha and Haley, niece, Toni Tempest and her husband, Michael of Florida and their children, Jordan, Matthew, Nichole and Amber. She was pre-deceased by brothers, Edward A. Finnegan, Robert Finnegan and Thomas Finnegan and sister Nancy Augusta.

Relatives and friends may attend Finnigan’s Life Celebration to be held on Thursday, Aug. 30 from 6-8 p.m. at BERUBE-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. Her Funeral Service will be held on Friday, Aug. 31 at 10 a.m. at the funeral home followed by burial in Haverhill’s St. Patrick Cemetery.
