Christmas is coming—and the organizers at Methuen’s Festival of Trees are planning ahead. To raise awareness of the Festival’s mission, a “Race for the Silver” scavenger hunt is planned for Saturday, September 8 from 4-8 p.m.

Teams of four to 10 participants will race off from Festival headquarters at 13 Branch St., to various locations in and around Methuen, with the last stop leading to a buffet dinner and prizes. Bonus points are awarded to participants who enter into challenge activities and update their social media pages along the way.

“Whether you’re familiar with Methuen’s history or not, this unique event promises to be fun and exciting for everyone who participates,” said Festival president Tom Lussier.

The first place team wins $750, second place $500 and third place $250. Those teams who place in the top 10 will receive gift certificates valued at up to $100.

Tickets are $35 per person and teams may register by calling 978-685-8878 or by visiting MethuenFestivalofTrees.com.
