Members of the new Haverhill Police Gang Unit on a proactive patrol over the weekend nabbed a 33-year-old city resident on charges including armed assault to murder.

Joshua Maisonet, of 36 Vine St., was arrested just after noon Saturday, Aug. 25 on Pentucket Street by Officer Adam Durkee. Maisonet’s warrant-related arrest stems from his alleged involvement in a February 2018 stabbing incident, WHAV has confirmed.

This weekend’s arrest is the latest in Maisonet’s lengthy history with Haverhill Police.

In July 2015, Maisonet—then a resident of Pilling Street—was arrested on High Street on a warrant relating to alleged drug possession and larceny. Three months later, Maisonet was charged with heroin possession after being arrested along with 18 other Haverhill residents during a major police sting in the city’s Mount Washington and Acre neighborhoods.
