Barbara L. Stewart, 74, 13-Year Employee of Esty Lumber

Barbara L. Stewart, 74, a lifelong resident of South Groveland, passed away peacefully at the Danvers Kaplan Family Hospice House on Wednesday, Aug. 22.

Born in Haverhill on April 15, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. and Virginia E. (Doherty) Sweetser.

Stewart was educated in the Groveland School System, graduating from Pentucket High School with the class of 1962. She was employed at Esty Lumber for 13 years. In her spare time, Stewart enjoyed ceramics, dollhouses, the Red Sox and Bruins and Sunday drives with her daughter.

She was predeceased by her husband James E. Stewart, who passed away in 2012, and her son James E. Stewart, Jr. who passed in 2011.She is survived by her daughter Debra Stewart of Groveland, two sisters Mildred R. Bogouslawski of Tehachopi, Calif., and Margaret E. Boulay of Wayland, several nieces and nephews, and a lifelong friend Linda Champagne of Groveland.

Her funeral will be held Monday, Aug. 26, starting from the H.L. Farmer and Sons Bradford Funeral Home, 210 South Main St., Bradford at 10 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, 114 Center St., Groveland. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Groveland.
