Everyone has been safely accounted after an automobile was found submerged in the Merrimack River near the Route 110 rest stop near Methuen.

Haverhill Police dispatched officers after receiving reports of a car in the river at about 9:45 a.m., Saturday. The automobile was found unoccupied, prompting a search for occupants. However, police said in a statement, the unidentified owner was later found safely at home with minor injuries. The person was sent to a local hospital for treatment.

“It appears that all parties in the vehicle have been accounted for,” the statement said.

The Haverhill harbormaster and State Police Air Wing and Dive Team were also called to assist as a “precautionary measure,” police said. The incident is under investigation.
