Cecile M. (Ethier) DelGrosso, 94, Retired from Lucent

Cecile M. (Ethier) DelGrosso, 94, a native and lifelong resident of Haverhill, died Wednesday, Aug. 22 at Port Rehabilitation in Newburyport, following an extended period of declining health.

The daughter of the late Charles and Ida (Cote) Ethier, she attended Haverhill Public Schools and graduated Haverhill High School with the class of 1942. She was employed as a tester at Western Electric and AT&T Technologies and retired from Lucent Technologies as a supervisor after many years of service.

A member of the Telephone Pioneers of America and the Merrimack Valley Credit Union, DelGrosso was a devoted mother and grandmother and enjoyed shopping for her grandchildren. She also enjoyed cooking and baking, family gatherings and get together with friends.

Predeceased by her husband Joseph N. DelGrosso in 1998, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by a son and daughter-in-law, Joseph N. Jr. and Gloria DelGrosso of Haverhill, a daughter and son-in-law, Jody A. and David Fowler of Newburyport, two brothers, Charles Ethier and Richard Ethier, both of Haverhill, two sisters Gloria Packard of Newburyport and Claire Arnold of Haverhill, four grandchildren, Valerie DelGrosso and her partner, Krystal Hutchings of Haverhill, Joseph N. DelGrosso III, and his wife Bianca of Haverhill, and Lauren A. Fowler and Michelle L. Fowler, of Newburyport, two great-grandchildren, Joseph N. DelGrosso, IV, and Vincent J. DelGrosso, and several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to DelGrosso’s Life Celebration to be held on Sunday, Aug. 26 from 2-5 p.m. at Berube-Comeau Funeral Home, 47 Broadway, Haverhill. A service of remembrance will follow at 5:15 p.m.. Her burial service will begin on Monday morning at 10 a.m. from the funeral home, with a graveside service at 11 a.m. in Saint Patrick’s Cemetery, North Broadway, Haverhill.
