Haverhill’s newly formed gang unit made a major bust on the city’s Vine Street, netting drugs, cash and stolen property and leading to the arrest of two local men for cocaine trafficking.

Police executed a search warrant August 14 at 8 Vine St., the home of 26-year-old Jose Delbrey, recovering a Glock 10mm handgun reported stolen from Pelham, N.H., a .380 handgun and two flat screen TVs that were presumed stolen, the department confirmed.

Entering the home just before 10 a.m., arresting officer Adam Durkee was among the officers who found 21 grams of cocaine, prescription pills, marijuana and psychedelic mushrooms. Items consistent with drug sales were also found at the property, police said. Nearly $900 in cash was also recovered.

Arraigned last week in Haverhill District Court, both Delbrey and 18-year-old Jose Figueroa, of 135 Lafayette Square, were charged with receiving stolen property and the unlicensed possession of a firearm and ammunition. They also must answer to three counts each of drug possession and one count each of cocaine trafficking.
