Friends and family of 26-year-old Cory William Croteau are set to gather on Saturday in North Andover to remember the motorcyclist killed in an August 16 accident less than a minute from his home on Haverhill’s River Street.

Visiting hours take place Saturday from 4-8 p.m. at North Andover’s Conte Funeral Home, 17 Third St., with Croteau’s funeral held Monday at 1 p.m. at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Andover.

In an obituary released by the Conte Funeral Home, Croteau’s family said the Haverhill native “had many passions in life, some of which included getting his hands dirty working on his motorcycle, pickup truck and anything else that needed to be fixed.”

His family said Croteau was especially fond of riding his motorcycle at the beach alongside his best friend Ryan. Croteau passed along his love for all things on wheels to his beloved nephew Mason Blacker, his family said.

A graduate of Universal Technical Institute, Croteau was employed at United Site Services at the time of his death.

He is survived by his parents Michael and Traci Croteau of Haverhill, his sister Kerri Croteau and nephew Mason Blacker of Noank, Conn., grandfather William Hamel of North Andover, grandmother Deana Hamel of Florida, godparents Kathy Blouin and Chris Blouin of Derry N.H., uncles Brian Hamel of North Andover, Steven Croteau of Manchester N.H., Debbie Croteau of Salem N.H., Susan and her husband Ronnie Gingrass of Windham N.H. He also leaves several cousins and close friends. Croteau was predeceased by grandparents William and Bertha Croteau and his aunt Susan Croteau.

Croteau’s friend Nick Catania has created a GoFundMe page in an effort to help the Croteau family defray funeral costs and other expenses. Since Croteau’s passing, mourners have raised nearly $10,000 of a $15,000 goal.
