The Haverhill Public School system wants to help parents and students take the guesswork out of the first day of school, and welcomes the public to attend one of several open houses at city elementary schools later this month.
The first day of school for students in grades 1-12 is Tuesday, Aug. 28. City kindergarteners head back to class on Wednesday, Sept. 5.

Bradford Elementary, 118 Montvale St.
Kindergarten and Grade 2: Monday, Aug. 27 from 3-3:30 p.m.
Grades 1 and 3: Monday, Aug. 27 from 4-4:30 p.m.
Grade 4: Monday, Aug. 27 from 4-5;30 p.m.
Consentino, 685 Washington St.
All Grades: Monday, Aug. 27 from 5-6:30 p.m.
Golden Hill, 140 Boardman St.
All Grades: Monday, Aug. 27 from 4-5:30 p.m.
Pentucket Lake, 252 Concord St.
Grades 3 and 4: Monday, Aug. 27 from 3-4 p.m.
Kindergarten and grades 1 and 2: Monday, Aug. 27 from 4-5 p.m.
