Morgan Elizabeth Madonia, 36, Respiratory Therapist

Morgan Elizabeth Madonia 36, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 4, surrounded by her family in Haverhill after a four-year battle with metastatic breast cancer.

Madonia was born Sept. 13, 1981 in Mountain Grove, Mo., and was the daughter of Michael and Cynthia Madonia. She grew up in Lawrence, where she graduated from Greater Lawrence Technical High School. She continued her education at Northern Essex Community College studying respiratory therapy. She worked at Lowell Saints Memorial Hospital in Lowell as a respiratory therapist. She was raised as a Jehovah’s Witness and made many lifelong friends who will miss her dearly.

Madonia was an avid Boston sports fan cheering for the Patriots in the fall. She enjoyed music, dancing, camping and the beach. She most enjoyed spending time with her family. Most recently she was coping with loss of her sister and best friend Gina, who passed away in February 2018.

She is survived by her five-year-old daughter Evangeline Elizabeth Marquez and fiancé Alexander Marquez of Lawrence, parents Michael and Cynthia Madonia of Mililani, HI, siblings Mark Madonia of Springfield, Mo., Christopher Madonia and wife Becky of Kansas City, Mo., Stephen Madonia and wife Joyce of Castle Rock, Colo., Eileen McCarter and husband Robin of Methuen, Aaron Madonia and wife Jasmine of Dracut, Heidi Cerullo and husband Jay of Haverhill, Andrea Leblanc and husband Steven of King George, Va., Jaime Cuevas and husband German of Methuen, Lukas Madonia and wife Nikka of Atlanta, Benjamin Madonia of Mililani, HI, and her beloved dog Bosco, along with many nieces and nephews.

A memorial gathering will be held Friday, Aug. 10, at Haverhill’s Driscoll Funeral Home, 309 South Main St., from 5-8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Madonia’s daughter’s “Fundly” legacy account, to raise money for Eva’s future in her mother’s absence.
