Gus Tran, 52, Worked at Chesterton’s 10 Years

Gus Tran, 52, of Haverhill, husband of Son Nguyen, passed away Aug. 4, at his home with his family by his side.

Born in Vietnam, he was the son of the late Thang Tran and En Nguyen of Worcester. With his family, he traveled from Vietnam to Malaysia, surviving a long boat trip. From Malaysia he came to the United States in 1980, arriving in California, then Chicago and settled in Louisiana where he attended Morgan City High School. Tran was employed in the shipping department at the warehouse of Chesterton’s for 10 years. He loved traveling, especially to California and Universal Studios, TV game shows and always dreamed of being a contestant on Let’s Make a Deal and the Price is Right. Tran was a boxing fan, football and basketball.

In addition to his wife of 18 years, he is survived by his children, Kevin Tran and Karen Tran of Haverhill; five step brothers;four step sisters; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours Tuesday, Aug. 7 from 5-9 p.m. at Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Funeral services begin on Wednesday morning from the funeral home at 9: with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. James Church, Winter Street, Haverhill at 10 a.m. Burial is private.
