Joan Willett, 86, of Haverhill passed away Saturday, July 28, at High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill after a very brief illness.
She was born in Haverhill, Aug. 13, 1931, daughter of the late Joseph M. and Gladys E. (MacCuish) Willett.
Willett was educated in Haverhill Public Schools, graduating from Haverhill High School with the class of 1949. She attended Wheaton College, Norton,and was later a graduate of Boston University, class of 1954 with a bachelor’s in liberal arts and secretarial science.
She enjoyed music by, and was a life long benefactor of, the Boston Symphony Orchestra and the New York Metropolitan Opera.
She worked for many years as the assistant to the administrator of the former Hale Hospital in Haverhill.
She was the dear friend of the late Elizabeth Farnsworth.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her funeral service Wednesday, Aug. 1. at 11 a.m., at H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Burial follows in Linwood Cemetery, Haverhill. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the High Pointe Hospice House, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg 9., Lawrence MA 01843
