Residents of Haverhill with children who will be at least 5 years old by August 31 are eligible to enter public kindergarten for the 2018-2019 school year. Registration is now open on the first floor of the former Burham School at 45 Fountain St., with many forms, policies and procedures available for online download in both English and Spanish.
Students registering for kindergarten must have a documented physical on file within one year of school entry, a lead screening and several physician-verified vaccinations. During registration, parents are encouraged to meet with registration nurse Julie Clinch to discuss their child’s medication management or any allergy concerns.
Part-time kindergarten is free for all eligible children. A tuition-based full-day program is also available at a rate of $2,000 per student, with a sliding fee scale in place for qualified families.
