GLFHC’s Gravel Elected Treasurer of American Board of Family Medicine

Dr. Joseph Gravel, the chief medical officer of Greater Lawrence Family Health Center, has been elected treasurer of the American Board of Family Medicine, the second-largest medical specialty board in the U.S.

On the Board since 2014, Gravel will assist the group in upholding the standards by which family medicine doctors are evaluated and certified. He will serve a one-year term as treasurer.

A native of Norwich, Conn., Gravel graduated magna cum laude from Tufts University and Tufts University School of Medicine. Prior to his work at GLFHC, Gravel was chief resident at Virginia Commonwealth University and was a medical officer in the U.S. Army.
