Officials Identify Skateboarder Killed on River Street as High Street Resident

The 27-year-old skateboarder killed on River Street early Saturday morning has been identified as Efrain Alejandro Gonzalez-Zamora.

Gonzalez-Zamora was listed as a resident of 111 High St., according to Carrie Kimball Monahan, spokeswoman for Essex County District Attorney Jonathan W. Blodgett.

He was struck just after 3:30 a.m. near 747 River St., east of Westgate Center. The street also carries traffic for state routes 110 and 113. No charges have been filed against the Salisbury driver of a white, 2016 Freightliner M2-102 truck. The truck was traveling west when Gonzalez-Zamora was struck. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

An investigation remains ongoing by Mass. State Police Crash Reconstruction Analysis Section and Haverhill Police.
