Michael Jon Cotton, 50, Quality Analyst

Michael Jon Cotton, 50, of Groveland, passed away at his home Monday, July 9.
He was born in Haverhill on Sept. 15, 1967, the son of Keith Cotton of Groveland and Jean (Chapman) Cotton of Haverhill.

A graduate of Pentucket Regional High School with the class of 1984, Cotton was employed at Genzyme, Inc as a quality analyst.

Cotton was adventurous and enjoyed traveling. His travels led him to Peru, which inspired his spiritual journey. He also loved long rides with his friends on his Harley. On sunny days he liked going for rides with the top down in his Camaro. Cotton cherished his Sunday ritual of going to the movies with his daughter and spending time with his son and grandson, the best parts of his life, on weekends. He was loved deeply by all his friends and family and will be greatly missed.

He is survived by his parents Keith Cotton and his wife Rachel of Groveland and Jean Cotton of Haverhill, children Derek Cotton and his fiancée Alexandra Salois of Salisbury and Melissa Cotton of Newmarket, N.H., grandson Ryan Cotton, lifelong best friend Robert Castonguay and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his visitation on Wednesday, July 18, from 4-8 p.m. at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. His funeral service will follow the visitation at 8:15 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Massachusetts Association for Mental Health, Inc., 50 Federal St., 6th Floor, Boston, Massachusetts 02110.
