Haverhill chef and small business owner Scott Brandolini is bringing his online meal prep service to the Merrimack Valley masses through his new brick and mortar storefront at 612 Broadway.
Born out of Brandolini’s own desire to eat healthy, HBM Healthy Kitchen is an offshoot of the online delivery service he and fiancée Felisha St. Lawrence founded two years ago. As Brandolini tells WHAV, the hearty, protein-packed offerings at Healthy Kitchen aim to fill a need for healthy grab ‘n go meal options in Haverhill.
“All the meal prep companies seem to be gym guys who decided to do meal prep, not chefs,” he tells WHAV. “That’s why ours is fitness-inspired and chef-driven. It’s healthy food that tastes good.”
Formerly of Salisbury’s Seaglass restaurant, Brandolini whips up breakfast, lunch and dinner seven days a week from 9 a.m.-7 p.m. and uses locally-sourced ingredients whenever possible. HBM Healthy Kitchen’s 2,000 square-foot space, a former pizza shop, has seating for 24 and includes a smoothie bar.
Top sellers in the weeks since their mid-June grand opening include build-your-own burrito bowls, acai bowls and a chicken-and-pancakes combo they call “Pumpcakes.”
HBM Healthy Kitchen also plans to participate in August’s Haverhill Restaurant Week, contributing a $10 special that includes a burrito bowl, energy drink and a protein snack, Brandolini said.
