Marilyn (Snow) Lutz, 68, Social Worker for Merrimack Valley Elder Services

Marilyn (Snow) Lutz, 68, of Haverhill, passed away peacefully at her home, with her family by her side, on Sunday, July 8.

She was born in Dover on March 11, 1950, the daughter of the late Robert and Dorothy (Laird) Snow.

Lutz was educated in the Dover school system and graduated from Dover High School, earning her bachelor’s degree in social work from UMass Lowell. For many years she was a licensed social worker for Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley until she retired. She was dedicated to her job and found it very rewarding.

Her family, especially her grandchildren, were the center of her life. She enjoyed trips to York Beach, Maine and New York City. She had a passion for baking, quilting and sewing which she loved to teach and share with others.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Lutz and his wife Devon of Derry, N.H., a significant other, John Luongo of Haverhill, his children whom she viewed as her own, Talia Luongo and her husband Matthew Bisceglia of Worcester and Dominic Luongo and his wife Dorothy of Amherst, N.H., two brothers Robert Snow of Yarmouth Port, and Jonathan Snow of Pennsylvania, seven grandchildren Megan Lutz, Melanie Lutz, Erin Lutz, Kelly Lutz, Chloe Luongo, Derric Palmer and Matthew Bisceglia as well as several nieces and nephews.

At her request, all funeral services are private. Arrangements are by the H.L. Farmer and Sons Funeral Homes and Cremation Service, Haverhill and Bradford.
