Helen E. (Goddard) Vadeboncoeur, 77, Retired From AT&T

Helen E. (Goddard) Vadeboncoeur, 77, wife of George E. Vadeboncoeur, passed away July 10 in Haverhill after a two-year fight with cancer. She just celebrated her 55th wedding anniversary with her husband George.

Born in Amesbury, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Pearl (Prescott) Goddard. A graduate of Haverhill High School with the class of 1958, she was employed for over 30 years at the former AT&T and Lucent Technologies. Vadeboncoeur was loved by everyone who knew her and was always smiling. She enjoyed working in her garden planting flowers and would spend hours with her best friend, Carol Matterson, talking about gardening. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and was a member of T.O.P.S. She will be sadly missed by her husband George.

In addition to her loving husband, she leaves her children, David S. Smith and his wife Lisa of Texas, Scott Smith and his wife Sylvia of Sacramento, Calif., G. Allen Vadeboncoeur of Haverhill, Edward Vadeboncoeur and his wife Jeannie of Haverhill, Kelly Agnello of Lowell, her sister Patricia Fuller and her husband Dick of Conway, N.H., four grandchildren, Stefani Vadeboncoeur, Shea Vadeboncoeur, Kyle Smith, and Kelsey Mottram, and her niece Jennifer. She was predeceased by her brothers, Fred, David and Charles Goddard.

Family and friends are invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, July 15 from 2-4 p.m. at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St., Haverhill. Burial will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Atkinson Cemetery, Main Street, Atkinson, N.H.
